What we do

The Association of Licensed Forex Bureaus in The Gambia (ALFOB) is a legal entity established in 2004 to represent the interests of its stakeholders in the foreign exchange bureau industry in The Gambia. ALFOB seeks to provide a united front for its members while promoting high standards of professional conduct and practices in the industry.

Provide a central organization that unites foreign exchange bureaux in The Gambia and ensures honest and efficient service to the public through high standards of professional conduct and practices.
Make recommendations to the Central Bank of The Gambia on matters related to the foreign exchange market and ensure compliance with the Central Bank’s guidelines on foreign exchange bureaux issues.
Foster cordial working relationships with the Central Bank, Commercial Banks, and other Financial Institutions, while promoting the interests and welfare of its members and establishing business relations among them.
Organize training for members as necessary and disseminate relevant information through bulletins, seminars, workshops, lectures, and the mass media for the education of members of the Association and the general public.

ALFOB aims to provide a forum for compliance with Central Bank of The Gambia guidelines and to promote the interests and welfare of its members. Its activities are centred around establishing a unified voice for the industry while fostering business relations among its members. By organizing training and disseminating relevant information, ALFOB aims to ensure high standards of professional conduct and practices in the foreign exchange bureau industry in The Gambia.

2. Our Vision

A world class Membership Based Organisation that is the voice of Licensed Forex Bureaus in The Gambia, to partner with the regulator and other stakeholders in creating innovative foreign exchange industry in the Gambia through financial technology (Fintech) and digitalisation.

3. Our Mission

ALFOB, is the Association of Licensed Forex Bureaus whose mission is to promote, preserve and improve financial services, driving the change towards greater financial inclusion. Also serving the interest of foreign exchange bureaus in the Gambia through regulatory compliance of foreign exchange policies and guidelines, provide value adding information, efficient and professional services to stakeholders.
